Carried Away

Mark this woman – Seek her!
She walks a pace to pass a place as laughter:
Scherzo, to the hymn and hums of softly seated generations,
A shock to the draughts and ash of damp academies.
So the weary nods, of accustomed strangers, dart to attest the strange;
Embracing that illusive charm
Which sparks to weld remembrance to the new-
A worthy risk – A glance of bliss!
But glances softly sift to gaze,
And gaze blurs to sweet oblivion-
When one wakes to whereon she passed,
All that remains is void
That was not there before
(she leaves her absence everywhere)
